Della & Delle Brow Henna is a professional powder henna that tints the brow hairs and the skin beneath them. One application gives colour on the hairs plus a soft, defined shadow on the skin, which is what makes henna brows look fuller than a classic tint. It comes in five mixable shades (Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown, Black and Black Intense) and in three jar sizes, 1.5 g, 3 g and 8 g, with the same formula in every size.
If you searched for “Della Delle henna”, this is the one: the Brazilian brand that pioneered brow henna in Brazil. The range is arriving soon at Brow Lash World. The products are already listed, and you can sign up on each product page to be told when stock arrives.
This guide covers how henna differs from a tint, which shade suits which client, how to choose a jar size, the short procedure, the patch test and storage.
Brow henna vs a classic brow tint
A classic brow tint, as a rule, colours mainly the hairs. Any stain it leaves on the skin is usually light and fades quickly. Brow henna works differently: Della & Delle Brow Henna is made to tint the hairs and the skin beneath them. That skin stain gives a henna brow its filled-in look, and it is why the result lasts 3 to 15 days on the skin, depending on skin type.
Because it also colours the skin, henna suits clients with sparse areas, growth gaps or grey hairs, and anyone who wants a fuller, well-shaped and clearly defined brow. The formula already contains a fixative that adheres to the hairs and gives a water-resistant result.
A classic tint is often the simpler choice when a client only wants darker hairs and a very natural look. For a full comparison of hybrid, gel and liquid dyes, see our lash and brow tint guide.
One thing henna and tint have in common: this is an oxidising hair colour for brows, so it gets the same care. Patch test first, every time.
About Della & Delle
Della & Delle is a Brazilian professional brand for brow henna and skincare. Around the henna, the range covers every step of the treatment: a henna softener, two henna brushes, a beige highlighter pencil and three facial skincare products for prep. You can see the whole line on the Della & Delle brand page.
Key points about the henna:
- Contains no ammonia or parabens.
- Fixative already in the formula, for a water-resistant result.
- According to the supplier, covered by a safety certificate from the Brazilian Health Agency (ANVISA) and notified on the European Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP).
- Cruelty-free, vegan and PETA certified, according to the manufacturer.
The five shades and who they suit
All five shades share the same formula. The descriptions below come from the brand, together with the clients each shade is often chosen for. Treat them as a starting point: skin tone, natural hair colour and the look your client wants all play a part.
| Shade | Result | Often chosen for |
|---|---|---|
| Light Brown | A softer, natural result | Fair skin, blonde or red hair |
| Medium Brown | A balanced tone for a soft, natural look | Fair skin, blonde or red hair |
| Dark Brown | A rich, deep tone for a defined, expressive look | Brown and black hair |
| Black | A deep, balanced tone for a sophisticated, defined brow | Brown and black hair |
| Black Intense | A more marked result with a neutral tone | Brown and black hair |
Black Intense has its own development window: 3 to 45 minutes, instead of 5 to 45 minutes for the other shades. Keep a closer eye on it, especially with first-time clients.
Mixing shades
The five shades can be mixed to reach the tone you want. That helps when a client sits between two shades, for example fair skin with darker hair, or when you want a little more depth than Medium Brown without going all the way to Dark Brown.
There are no fixed ratios to copy here, so follow the product instructions, start with small amounts and write the mix on the client card so you can repeat it next time. As a rule, it is easier to deepen a result than to take it back, which is why many artists start lighter at a first appointment. If a result does come out too strong, the Henna Softener can soften it (more on that below).
Choosing a size: 1.5 g, 3 g or 8 g
Della & Delle Brow Henna comes in three jar sizes. It is the same henna in all three: the same five shades, the same formula and the same instructions. The only difference is how many applications you get from a jar.
- 1.5 g, around 15 applications: a trial jar. Good for testing a new shade, for adding henna to your menu for the first time, or for a shade you only use now and then.
- 3 g, around 30 applications: the middle size, for a regular henna service or for the shades you use often but not daily.
- 8 g, around 75 applications: for a busy salon and the shades you reach for every day.
A practical approach is to stock your best-selling shade in the 8 g jar and the others in a smaller size. The powder needs protecting from oxidation once the jar is open, so as a rule it makes little sense to keep a large jar of a shade you rarely use.

How to use it: the short version
- Cleanse the brows. On clean, fully dry skin the colour takes faster and the result lasts longer.
- Mix the powder with mineral or filtered water only, to a “ketchup” texture.
- Let the mix rest for 15 minutes.
- Apply with a brush or stick, dabbing lightly until the whole brow is filled, then align the shape.
- Leave on for 5 to 45 minutes, depending on the intensity you want (Black Intense: 3 to 45 minutes).
- Remove with cotton soaked in water.
Two practical tips. Keep a bottle of mineral or filtered water at your station, since that is the only liquid the instructions call for. And plan the 15-minute rest into the appointment, for example while you map the brow shape, so it never feels like waiting time.
That is the outline. For the full salon treatment, from consultation and mapping to removal and aftercare, read henna brows step by step.
Patch test before every application
Always do a patch test, even if the client has had the product before. Apply the henna to the forearm for 3 hours, then watch the area for 48 hours. If redness, itching or swelling appears, do not use the product.
Repeat the patch test before every application, and never use the henna on skin that reacted to the test. In practice, that means booking the test at least two days before the treatment and noting the date and result on the client card.
Finishing and tools
The henna is the heart of the treatment, but three companions help you get a clean, precise result:
- Henna Softener 30 ml: used right after removal, it softens and lightens henna intensity, removes stains and excess around the design, helps create an ombré effect and can neutralise henna that has turned greenish. There is no need to remove it afterwards.
- Safira Henna Brush: an angled tip for henna application and for finishing a brow design.
- Brush 01: double-ended, with an angled end to fill the brow and a fine end for details, the outline and small gaps.
Not sure which brush to start with? We compare both in Safira vs Brush 01.

Storage
Keep the jar tightly closed and store it away from light and heat. Always put the clear inner seal plug back after use so the powder does not oxidise. As a rule, a closed drawer at your workstation is a better home than a sunny shelf or a spot next to a heater or wax warmer.
Skin prep and the final touch
Henna takes faster and lasts longer on clean, fully dry skin, so prep matters. Della & Delle has two products for it: the Facial Cleansing Mousse, a gentle foam with white lily extract, and the Facial Cleansing Tonic with rice extract and D-Panthenol, which removes the last traces of make-up and impurities from the brow area. Let the skin dry fully before you apply the henna. Our guide to skin prep before brow henna explains the order.
To finish, the Beige Highlighter Brow Pencil is drawn under the arch or along the contour. It brightens the area around the brow, emphasises the shape and makes a fresh henna brow stand out.

FAQ
Are the 1.5 g, 3 g and 8 g jars different hennas?
No. It is the same Della & Delle Brow Henna in three sizes, with the same five shades and the same formula. The 1.5 g jar gives around 15 applications, the 3 g around 30 and the 8 g around 75.
How long does Della & Delle brow henna last?
On the skin, 3 to 15 days, depending on skin type. Clean, fully dry skin before application helps the result last longer, and the fixative in the formula makes it water-resistant.
Can I mix the shades?
Yes, all five shades can be mixed to reach the tone you want. Follow the product instructions, start with small amounts and record the mix on the client card.
Does it contain ammonia?
No, it contains no ammonia or parabens. It is still an oxidising hair colour for brows, so a patch test is needed before every application: 3 hours on the forearm, then watch the area for 48 hours.
What if the result is too dark or turns greenish?
Right after removal, use the Henna Softener on a cotton-tipped stick or brush. It softens and lightens the intensity and can neutralise henna that has turned greenish.
