How to choose lash lift rods

The rod you choose shapes the whole result of a lash lift. Two factors matter most: the curl type, which sets how dramatic the lift looks, and the size, which should suit the client's natural lash length and eyelid.

Understanding curl types

  • C curl – a rounded curve for a soft, natural lift, as with the Mestay Berry Rod.
  • LC curl – rounded at the root with a sharp, lifted curl at the tips for a bold, defined look, as with the Mestay Mango Rod.
  • CI curl – a hybrid with the vertical height of an I-curl and the soft roundness of a C-curl, for a wide-eyed, longer-lash effect.
  • I curl – a sharp, high-impact lift that shows off natural lash length, as with the Early Dumpling Rods.

The Early Slime Rods

The Early Slime Lash Lift Rods are a CI curl set in professional-grade silicone. They are known for an ultra-soft texture that grips the eyelid with minimal glue.

The set includes four sizes – S, M, L and LL – so one purchase covers a range of eyes while keeping the same curl style across your clients.

Choosing the right size

As a general rule, longer lashes need a larger rod and shorter lashes a smaller one. A rod that is too small can over-curl long lashes, while one that is too large may give little visible lift on short lashes.

For clients with longer or thicker lashes, oversized options such as the Mestay Big Berry and Big Mango rods keep the same curl with a larger diameter.

Caring for your rods

Clean silicone rods between clients according to the manufacturer's instructions and let them dry fully before storing. Keep each set organised by size so you can pick the right one quickly during an appointment.

You will find more rods and silicone pads in our Accessories and Korean Lash Lift collections.

Frequently asked questions

Which sizes are included in the Early Slime Rods set?
The Early Slime Lash Lift Rods come as a set of four sizes: S, M, L and LL. All four share the CI curl, so you can keep the same look across clients while adapting the size to each eye and lash length. They are made from professional-grade silicone.
What is the difference between a CI curl and a C curl?
A C curl is a rounded curve that gives a soft, natural lift, as with the Mestay Berry Rod. The CI curl is a hybrid: it combines the vertical height of an I-curl with the soft roundness of a C-curl, for a more wide-eyed, longer-lash effect. Choose according to how dramatic a result your client wants.
Do I need glue with silicone lash lift rods?
It depends on the rod and your lotion system. The Slime Rods are known for gripping the eyelid with minimal glue, and the Mestay Berry Rod is described as no-glue-needed. To hold lashes on the rod, a balm such as Early Balm Pro stays workable during placement and is an alternative to traditional lash glue.
Which rod suits clients with long lashes?
Larger rods generally suit longer lashes. The Mestay Big Berry Rod and the Big Mango Rod are upsized versions made for clients with longer lashes, keeping the C or LC curl with a larger diameter. Within the Slime set, the larger sizes give you more room for longer lashes.
