What a brow highlighter does

According to the product description, the beige pencil does three things:

• it brightens the area around the brow;
• it emphasises the shape of the brows;
• it opens up the eye area and makes a fresh design or henna application stand out.

Think of it as the contrast that frames the work. A clean, light line next to the coloured brow makes the edges look sharper without adding any more colour to the brow itself.

Where to apply it

The how-to is short. Outline the brows, either under the arch or along the contour you want to highlight. Glide the pencil lightly over the skin to add colour, without pressing on the surface.

• Under the arch: a light line here lifts the brow and gives the arch more definition.
• Along the contour: use it where the outline needs to look cleaner, for example after you have removed excess henna.
• On the waterline: the pencil can also be applied to the waterline, which is another way to open up the eye area.

As a rule, a light hand works best. Build the line gradually, and blend with a fingertip or a clean brush if you want a softer edge.

Finishing a henna brow with it

The pencil works best as the last step of a henna service, once the colour is on and the outline is clean. A typical order looks like this:

1. Do the patch test in advance, and repeat it before every henna application.

4. Finish with the highlighter pencil along the contour and under the arch.

Because the pencil adds a light shade rather than pigment, it is a quick way to show the client the result at the mirror: the brow looks defined, and the face looks a little more open.

Using it at home

The pencil format is practical for clients too. It is quick, precise and needs no preparation, so it suits a touch-up between appointments. Keep the same gentle pressure as in the salon, and avoid using it on irritated or damaged skin, as the safety instructions advise. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with water. If irritation occurs, stop use and seek medical advice.

Store it in a cool place away from strong light and out of the reach of children.
