A brow concealer is the small finishing step that makes a brow service look professional: a thin line of skin-matched concealer along the edges of the brow sharpens the shape, hides little imperfections and makes the result easy to read, in the mirror and in photos. The Noemi Concealer Palette was made for exactly this job, with 6 natural shades in one palette for use after colouring or waxing.
In short: map and shape the brow, tint or wax, calm and clean the skin, then use a clean brush to place a little concealer under the arch and along the outline, blend the outer edge into the skin and set the hairs. This guide covers how to choose the shade, the step-by-step order after a tint and after a wax, hygiene, and the mistakes that make concealer look heavy.
Why clean up brows with concealer?
After tinting or waxing, the shape you designed is there, but the edges can look soft. Stray tint on the skin, a little shadow under the arch or uneven skin tone around the brow all blur the outline. A brow concealer fixes the frame rather than the brow itself.
Noemi names three uses for the palette: concealing small skin imperfections, brightening dark circles and defining the brow outline. All three help the client see the shape you worked on, rather than the redness or tint stain around it.
Clean outlines and portfolio photos
A clean outline also makes your before-and-after photos look their best. On a phone screen, the eye reads contrast: a crisp line between brow and skin shows symmetry and precision at a glance. Many artists finish every brow with concealer before the photo, then show the client in the mirror.
Keep it honest, though. Concealer should refine the edge you created, not draw a new shape that the hairs do not support. Clients notice the difference after their first wash.
The Noemi Concealer Palette: what it is
The Noemi Concealer Palette holds 6 natural shades designed for shaping and refining brows after colouring or waxing. With several tones in one palette, you can match a wide range of skin tones without buying separate products, and mix two shades when a client sits between them.
Noemi positions it as the final step of a brow appointment: after tinting or waxing, a little concealer along the brow line sharpens the edges and evens out the surrounding skin. For hygiene, the instructions say to use a clean brush or spatula for each client.

How to choose the right concealer shade for brows
Colour-matching is where most brow concealer goes wrong. As a rule, test on the skin right next to the brow, not on the hand, because the face and the hand are rarely the same tone.
- Under the arch: many artists use a shade that matches the skin or is very slightly lighter, which lifts the arch and makes the brow look cleaner.
- Above the brow and at the tail: stay close to the exact skin tone. A light shade here usually looks like a stripe.
- Around the front of the brow: keep it minimal. The front is meant to look soft, so a hard concealer edge often looks unnatural.
Undertone matters as much as depth
Look at the undertone as well as how light or dark the skin is. Skin with warm, golden tones usually suits a warmer shade; cooler, pinker skin usually suits a neutral or cooler one. If the line turns grey or orange once blended, the undertone is off, not the amount.
Mixing two shades
When no single shade is right, mix two on a clean spatula or a mixing surface. Start with the closest shade and add the second in tiny amounts. Note the mix on the client card so the next appointment starts from the same point.
Step by step: brow concealer after a tint
Tinting is a chemical service, so carry out a patch test and follow the instructions included with the dye. The steps below start once the tint is done.
- Remove the tint and clean any stain from the skin as you usually do, then let the area dry.
- Brush the hairs into place so you can see the true edge of the brow.
- Pick the shade on the skin beside the brow and mix if needed.
- With a fine, clean brush, draw a thin line just below the lower edge, from under the arch towards the tail.
- Blend the outer side of the line into the skin. Keep the inner side, the side touching the hairs, crisp.
- Repeat more lightly above the brow only if the top edge needs it.
- Set the hairs with a brow gel such as Browmi, which Noemi describes as the final step after tinting.
For the tint itself, see the lash and brow tint guide. If you mix shades for each client, our guide to the brow tint ratio tool shows how to repeat a formula.
Step by step: brow concealer after a wax
After waxing, the skin often looks pink. You can correct and conceal in layers instead of piling on concealer:
- Soothe the skin after the wax. The Noemi Pre & Post Wax Lotion is designed for both sides of the service: it cleanses before and soothes and nourishes after.
- Apply Noemi Redness Neutralizer with a brush. Its universal green shade colour-corrects redness, and the water-based formula can be built up where redness is more visible.
- Only then add concealer along the outline, using less than you think. The neutralizer has already done the colour work.
- Blend, brush the hairs up and set them with gel.
For the wax steps before this, read the brow waxing guide.
Mapping with a pencil first
The cleanest outlines start before any wax or tint goes on. The Noemi Brown Pencil is a powder pencil made for drawing and mapping the brow before waxing and tinting, in light, medium and dark brown. A clear map means the concealer only refines the edge you planned together with the client.

Application tools and hygiene
A small, flat synthetic brush with a fine edge gives the most control for brow outlines. A flat spatula is handy to take product out of the pan and to mix shades.
- Never touch the pan with a brush that has already been on a client’s skin. Take product out with a clean spatula and work from a mixing surface.
- Use a clean brush or spatula for every client, as the product instructions require.
- Wash brushes after each appointment and let them dry fully before reuse.
- Keep the palette closed between clients so it stays clean.
Common brow concealer mistakes
Too much product
A thick layer looks like a stripe and can crease. Start with a very small amount and add only where needed. Concealer should be noticed as a clean brow, not as concealer.
The wrong undertone
A shade that is right in depth but wrong in undertone turns ashy or orange. Check in daylight if you can, and mix two shades rather than forcing one.
Product on the hairs
Concealer on the brow hairs dulls the tint and makes the brow look patchy. Brush the hairs up and away before you start and keep the brush just outside the hairline.
Drawing a new shape
Using concealer to cut a sharper shape than the hairs allow looks great for a photo but not in daily life. Refine the edge you created during waxing or tinting.
Skipping the colour correction
Covering strong redness with concealer alone usually needs a lot of product. Neutralize first, then conceal lightly.
Explaining it to clients
Tell the client what you are doing and why: you are cleaning up the frame so the shape shows. Some clients like to learn the technique for home, especially if they already wear make-up. A brow gel for home use and a pencil for filling between appointments are natural recommendations to finish the visit.

FAQ: brow concealer
Should brow concealer be lighter than the skin?
Under the arch, many artists use a shade that is the same as the skin or very slightly lighter. Above the brow and at the tail, staying close to the exact skin tone usually looks more natural.
Do you apply concealer before or after brow gel?
As a rule, concealer first, then gel. That way you can brush the hairs out of the way while you work and set them neatly at the end.
Can I use concealer right after waxing?
Soothe the skin first and follow the instructions included with your products. The Noemi palette is designed for use after colouring or waxing; many artists correct redness with a green neutralizer before adding concealer.
How do I stop concealer looking cakey on brows?
Use a small amount, a fine brush and blend only the outer edge. Mix two shades if one is not right, and build in thin layers instead of one thick one.
How many shades does the Noemi Concealer Palette have?
It has 6 natural shades, so you can match a wide range of skin tones and mix in-between shades from one palette.
