Lower Lash Lift: How to Lift Bottom Lashes with the Noemi Lower Lashes Patch

A lower lash lift (often searched as “bottom lash lift”) is a lash lift for the lower lashes: a small curved silicone patch holds the bottom lashes in a lifted, separated line while the lifting lotion works. The goal is not a dramatic curl but straighter, more visible lower lashes that frame the eye and match the lifted upper lashes.

The simplest way to add it to your menu is the Noemi Lower Lashes Patch. It is a 2-in-1 tool: it protects the skin under the eye during lifting and tinting, and its special bend lifts the lower lashes at the same time. You can treat the lower lashes in the same session as the upper lift, without a second appointment.

What is a lower lash lift?

In a classic lash lift, the lower lashes are usually covered with an under-eye pad and left alone. In a lower lash lift, they become part of the treatment: they are combed onto a curved silicone surface, fixed in place and processed with the same lotions as the upper lashes.

Lower lashes are, as a rule, shorter and finer than the upper lashes, and they often grow in different directions. Lifting them aligns them so they look longer and tidier.

Because the lower lashes sit right above the waterline, this service asks for more precision than an upper lift.

Noemi Lower Lashes Patch: protection and lift in one tool

The Noemi Lower Lashes Patch replaces the plain under-eye pad you would normally use during a lash lift or tint. Instead of only covering the skin, it has a special bend that gives the natural lower lashes a more beautiful shape while it protects the skin.

According to Noemi, it is ideal when the lower lashes grow upwards and you want them to show their full length, or when the lower lashes are curled. It can be used at the same time as lifting the upper lashes.

  • 2-in-1: skin protection during lifting and tinting plus a lower lash lift.
  • Material: skin-friendly silicone, gentle even on sensitive skin.
  • Reusable: washable, so it stays in your kit for many clients.

Lower lash pads A-B-C and the lower pair in the Multi Color set

If you want more control over the curve, the Noemi lash lifting pads for the lower lashes are made only for the bottom lashes. The set contains 3 different pairs (A, B and C), so you can match the pad to different lash lengths and eye shapes. Like the patch, they have a special curve, suit upward-growing or curled lower lashes, and can be used at the same time as an upper lift.

The Noemi Multi Color Soft Silicone Pads take a different approach: 6 pairs for the upper lashes, S (2) to XXL (4.5), plus 1 pair for the lower lashes. A practical start if you are still building your pad collection.

Who is a good candidate for a bottom lash lift?

As a rule, the best results come from clients whose lower lashes are long enough to be combed onto the patch and who are bothered by lashes pointing in different directions. Typical candidates:

  • lower lashes that grow upwards or sideways and look shorter than they are;
  • curled or crossed lower lashes that make the lash line look untidy;
  • clients who already book upper lifts and want a more even, balanced eye;
  • clients who wear little make-up and want definition without mascara.

Very short or very sparse lower lashes usually give a subtle result, so set expectations accordingly. Clients with irritated, inflamed or recently treated eyes should wait. As with any chemical service, do a patch test beforehand and follow the instructions included with the product.

Consultation: what to check before you start

Look at the lower lashes with the client’s eyes open and closed. Note their length, direction and density, and whether the lashes in the outer corner differ from those in the inner corner. This tells you whether the patch is enough or whether a fitted pad from the A-B-C set makes more sense.

Explain the realistic outcome: lower lashes that look straighter and longer, not a strong curl. Ask the client to keep the eyes closed throughout: a relaxed, informed client keeps still, which matters most in this service.

Record the tool and size you used on the client card so you can repeat or adjust the result next time.

Upper and lower lash lift in one session: step-by-step workflow

Doing both in one appointment saves time, because both sets of lashes process together. A typical sequence:

  1. Cleanse the lashes so they are free of make-up and oil, and make sure they are completely dry.
  2. Place the lower lash patch or pad under the eye, close to the lash line but not on the waterline, with the lower lashes resting on it.
  3. Place the upper pad and attach the upper lashes as usual.
  4. Comb the lower lashes onto the patch with a fine tool, separating them one by one, and secure them with your usual balm or glue, as you would on an upper pad.
  5. Apply the Step 1 lotion to upper and lower lashes, using only a small amount on the lower ones, and time both together. With the Noemi cysteamine lifting kit, Step 1 takes 10–14 minutes.
  6. Remove Step 1 and apply the fixing lotion. In the same kit, Step 2 takes 5–8 minutes.
  7. Tint if planned (after Step 2), then apply the nourishing Step 3, which is left on for 24 hours without rinsing.
  8. Gently release the lashes from the patch and pads, and comb them into shape.

Fine lower lashes may react faster than thick upper lashes, so follow the product instructions and check the lashes rather than adding time. For more detail on what each lotion does, read Lash lift lotions explained.

Keeping lotion away from the waterline and the eye

This is the part of a lower lash lift that needs the most care. A few habits help:

  • Use small amounts of lotion on the lower lashes and apply it with a fine applicator, never from an overloaded brush.
  • Keep the lotion on the lashes, not on the patch edge closest to the eye.
  • Remind the client not to open or squeeze the eyes during processing.
  • Remove each lotion carefully with a lightly damp cotton swab, working away from the eye.
  • If the client feels stinging, stop, remove the product and rinse with clean water as the product instructions describe.

If the patch slides up onto the waterline, reposition it before any lotion goes on.

Tinting lower lashes with the patch as protection

The Lower Lashes Patch is designed for tinting as well as lifting. When you tint, it acts as a barrier between the dye and the skin under the eye, which helps you avoid stains and keeps the lower lash line crisp.

Lower lashes often look lighter at the tips, so a tint makes them much more visible. Apply the dye precisely on the lashes, keep the amount small, and follow the processing time of your dye. Our lash lift kit checklist lists everything a complete lift-and-tint station needs.

Aftercare for a lower lash lift

Aftercare is the same as for an upper lift. As a rule, ask clients to keep the lashes dry and avoid steam, make-up and rubbing for the first 24 hours, especially since the nourishing step stays on the lashes during this time.

After that, a regular conditioning product keeps lifted lashes soft. The Noemi Brow & Lash Argan Creme is made for daily care of lashes and brows after colouring and lamination, which makes it an easy product to recommend for home use.

Common mistakes with lower lash lifts

  • Patch too high: it touches the waterline, feels uncomfortable and brings the lotion too close to the eye.
  • Lashes not separated: crossed lower lashes set crossed, so comb them one by one before the lotion goes on.
  • Too much lotion: excess product spreads towards the eye and can over-process fine lashes.
  • Treating lower lashes like upper ones: they are finer, so check them during processing.
  • Skipping hygiene: wash the patch and pads after every client, following the instructions included with the product.

FAQ: lower lash lift

Can you do a lash lift on the bottom lashes?

Yes. With a lower lash patch or dedicated lower lash pads, the bottom lashes are combed onto a curved silicone surface and processed with the lifting lotions, usually at the same time as the upper lashes.

Can I lift upper and lower lashes in the same appointment?

Yes. Both the Noemi Lower Lashes Patch and the lower lash pads A-B-C can be used at the same time as the upper lift, so both sets of lashes process together.

Is a lower lash lift safe?

It is a precise service because the lotions are close to the eye. Do a patch test, keep lotion amounts small, keep the patch off the waterline, make sure the client keeps the eyes closed, and follow the product instructions.

Can I tint the lower lashes after a lift?

Yes. With the Noemi cysteamine kit, tint after the fixing step and before the nourishing step, and use the lower lash patch to protect the skin under the eye.
